Guided climbs

Most climbers have a Dream Climb they aspire to. It could be in a remote setting, like a sea cliff or Alpine face, or it could be something which is technically just beyond the person. The Guide can help your dream come true. Guides can be hired for specific climbs or for courses to help to develop the skills for the climber to enable them to complete the climb themselves. Guides are used to taking clients on single and multi pitch routes and using either a traditional gear or sports climbing approach.
Venues are endless for these adventures. Some ideas:

  • Single pitch climbing. An ideal opportunity to experience lots of routes in one day. The Peak District and North Wales are excellent as are the ‘Hot Rock’ venues of Finale, Spain and Kalymnos
  • Multi pitch Traditional climbing using nuts, cams and hexes. Gogarth and Pembrokeshire for sea cliffs are excellent. Morocco is an excellent place to learn trad techniques.
  • Sports Climbing multi pitch routes. Alpine areas like Chamonix and Switzerland, Verdon, Finale

To find a Guide for your chosen adventure please fill in the enquiry form, at the bottom of each page. Please include your contact details and some specifics information about what you are after. Once the form is submitted all Guides will receive the enquiry. Guides who are available will respond directly to yourselves with an email

As we all work independantly each Guide has their own pricing structure. This will vary depending on the seriousness of the climb and mountain, the length of the day and the numbers of clients involved.

For any rock climbing a general level of fitness is required. To start the sport its more important just to want to have a go. Having a level of fitness or ability isn’t a pre requirement. For leading it is worth having some time on a climbing wall so that hanging to holds long enough can allow placing protection. For alpine rock a good level of fitness and some rock climbing experience is required

Ski Touring

Ski touring is the original and best way of travelling in snow covered mountains. It is a rewarding blend of mountaineering and skiing skills. We use bindings with a releasable heel and skins attached to our skis, of course there is effort required when moving up hill, but the experience feels harmonious and natural with a great feeling of satisfaction when we reach a summit. However the best part is making fresh tracks on a long descent in a wild and untouched place.

As always there is a progression within ski-touring, and we can help you from your first steps before moving onto multi day adventures such as the famous Chamonix to Zermatt ‘Haute Route’.

The UK Mountain Guides are amongst the most experienced and passionate in the business, and will share their vast knowledge and coach your skills at a level that suits you as an individual.

Hut to Hut Touring

The UK Mountain Guides have extensive ski touring experience in the Alps and regularly organise groups on all the famous ski tours, including:

  • Haute Route
  • Monte Rosa (Italian high level route)
  • Mont Blanc ascent
  • Grand Paradsio tour
  • Silvretta
  • Bernese Oberland
  • Vanoise Traverse
